ALL ABOUT MRS. COLE


I'm so excited for the upcoming 2023-24 school year at Double Peak School.
I have been teaching in the San Marcos Unified School District (SMUSD) for 26 years. I started my teaching career at San Marcos Middle school, then moved to Physical Education at Woodland Park Middle School for grades 6-7-8 for 13 years, finished an amazing 2015-16 school year at SEMS and opened DPS in 2016-17.

 In addition to teaching P.E., I had the privilege to bring back middle school sports to SMUSD during the 2014-15 school year, at WPMS, and as Athletic Coordinator 2017-2020 that has continued at Double Peak School. I am also excited to be a part of Double Peak Schools Leadership Team that has developed and created unique programs that will make Double Peak an Extraordinary School!

I am a graduate of San Diego State University (SDSU) with a BA in Psychology and a Minor in Social Work. I have also completed a Single Subject Teaching Credential in Physical Education.  I am committed to fostering students' engagement in team building opportunities and game play situations within the Physical Education environment and continually look for new ways to bring excitement to programs. The Leader In Me has been a strong focus within the PE classroom. We will continue that focus and I hope to continue to provide unique opportunities with CSUSM and The OUTRIDE Bike Riding For Focus Program.

Family and the San Marcos Community are extremely important to me as well! We have lived in San Marcos for 25 years and have resided in the community of San Elijo Hills for the last 20. My husband is a retired science teacher from SEMS.  I have twin sophomores in college this year, that I'm so proud of and I also have an amazing step daughter who graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Spanish and is working towards finding her forever career path.
I look forward to another amazing year at Double Peak School and I can’t wait to meet you all!!
